Yathapi ruciram puppham vannabantam agandhakam,evam subhasita vaca afalaa hoti akubbato(dh.51)...means just as a beautiful flower full of coloue but without fragrance is,even so fruitless is his fair word who does not practise it(dhammapada,eng.tran.Ven.Buddharakkhita Thera,p.16).The Dhammapada is indeed a practical guide to Right Living.Again have a look through the next stanza....verse no.52.Yathaapi ruciram puppham vannavantam sugandhakam,evam subhasitaa vaca safalaa hoti sakubbato,means just as a beautiful flower full of colour and also fragrant is,even so fruitful is his fair word who practises it.
All these pictures are showing the best institution in this world----University of Calcutta.The Great institution of Knowledge.The Green environment inside the University.It is surrounding the city,even then it keeps it greenary.The obvious cause behind the Global warming is cutting these green trees,dumb the ponds water ........for the concrete city life.No apply theory is there.Buddhism do believe the Applying theory.So,the term Applied Buddhism is appropriate.King Asoka is the Path finder of applied Buddhism.He did believe ,so he inscribed in the inscription- the theory of Buddhism ,send His childs,Kunal and Sanghamitta to outside India .He riped green trees into the road for His people.The entire matter only because the practising the theory.Buddha born in this world just before minimum 2550 years ago.But,still the modern and scientific ways of Him are following by ourselves and forces the modern people to follow and practise the Path.Yatha sankaaradhanasmim ujjhitasmim mahaapathe,padumam tattha jaayetha sucigandhandham manoramam/evam sankaarabhutesu andhabhute puthujjane,atirocati pannaaya sammasambuddhasaavako//(verse no.58,59)As upon a rubbish by the roadside ,blooms a lotus,fragrant and pleasing,even so amongst the blinded mortals like unto a rubbish heap,the discipline of the Supremely Enlightened One shines resplendent in Wisdom. Who are the great Environmentalist like Him?Who belived the Right livelihood for general people!!The society indeed urge to follow the Way of the Noble One to smell the sweet fragment through its young generation.
